ABOUT AUDIT & INSPECTION

JR Maritime & Security provide Audit and Inspection services as part of our specialist support services. Utilising our pool of qualified and experienced personnel, we conduct Audits and Inspections on behalf of shipowners, potential purchasers, financial institutions and investors.

 

JR Maritime & Security Audit and Inspection services include the services listed below, structured to meet any client’s individual requirements.

QUALITY, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL AUDITS

  • Review of standard operating procedures in place against required standards such as ISO, ISM and/or other standards as required.

  • Inspection of all relevant records.

  • Interviews with key staff.

  • Detailed reporting of findings and conformance levels, with recommendations for
    corrective actions where appropriate.

CONDITION AND STRUCTURAL SURVEYS

  • One-off inspections or regular visits.

  • Inspection of Class and statutory records and certification.

  • Inspection of condition and status of safety equipment.

  • Inspection of deck machinery and navigational equipment.

  • Status of corrosion protection systems.

  • Review of cargo systems.

  • Inspection of accommodation spaces.

  • Inspection of machinery spaces and systems.

  • Opening up and inspection of machinery as requested and required.

  • Review of maintenance systems and records.

  • Inspection of operational records and logbooks.

  • Research and reporting on commercial aspects of the vessel’s trade.

  • Analysis of vessel performance reports.

  • Review of loading and discharging rates, and out-turn discrepancies.

PRE-PURCHASE SURVEYS

  • An independent report on the condition and operational status of the vessel(s).

  • Inspection of Class records and statutory certification including the status of conditions and recommendations affecting the Class status.

  • Inspection of drydock and major overhaul reports, including thickness measurement records where available.

  • Inspection of condition and status of safety equipment.

  • Inspection of deck machinery and navigational equipment.

  • Inspection of accommodation spaces.

  • Inspection of machinery spaces

  • Research and reporting on commercial aspects of the vessels trade.

  • Additionally, where access can be obtained: 

    • Inspection of machinery systems.

    • Status of corrosion protection systems.

    • Review of cargo systems.

    • Opening up and inspection of machinery as requested and required, where permitted.

    • Review of maintenance systems and records.

    • Inspection of operational records and logbooks.

    • Analysis of vessel performance reports.

    • Review of loading and discharging rates, and out-turn discrepancies.
